How to Enable Night Light in Windows 10 and 11
To turn on Night Light on Windows, press Win + I to enter Settings, then click System, select Display from the left sidebar.You can easily find the option to turn on the night light at a glance.
Just toggle the night light button to enable.Enabling Night Light this way will turn on Night Light, but depending on the current time, your screen color may or may not be warmer.Either way, you'll need to tinker with a few settings to tweak them to work for you.We will detail these settings in the next section.

If you can't find the button to enable Night Light on Windows 11, click Edit (pencil icon) and select Add.Now, from the list of available options, select Night Light and tap Done to add the option to the quick settings.
Configure Night Light Settings on Windows
Windows allows you to change the intensity and schedule of the blue light filter.To do this, open the Settings window and go to System > Display.If you're on Windows 10, click on the Night Light settings option located under the toggle button.
Windows 11 users can click anywhere within the Night Light box to view Night Light settings.The settings for both versions of Windows are roughly the same; only the option labels differ.
Turn on night light
The first button, labeled "Turn On Now," will enable Night Light on the system.It works the same as the night light option in the taskbar quick settings.Using this option to enable Night Light will turn on the blue light filter regardless of the current time.
Adjust the intensity of the blue light filter
Next, you'll see a slider that allows you to control the strength of the filter.Choosing a higher value will make the screen colors warmer.You can try this setting and see what works best for you.
Ideally, you should choose a value that doesn't interfere with your work, while also helping you protect your eyes from blue light.For most people, around the age of 30 to 40 is the best and most comfortable environment.
set your own time
If you want to set your own time for the filter, you can do so with the Schedule night light option.This setting allows you to specify a time when you want to enable the blue light filter.When the period starts and ends, Windows automatically toggles Night Light for you.
To get started, enable "Schedule night light".You can set the time manually, or use the more convenient option to enable night light at sunset and disable at sunrise.However, keep in mind that this option requires you to enable location services on your device.If you don't want to turn on location services, you can manually set the sunrise and sunset times.
To do this, use the "On" and "Off" fields to specify a range where you want Night Light to be enabled.The best time to turn on the night light is a few hours before you go to bed.
Once you've set the on and off times, go back to the display settings and toggle the option to turn on the night light. Windows will now automatically enable night light at the beginning of the hour and disable it at the end of the period.

While Dark Mode can help you reduce the effects of blue light to some extent, it's not as effective as Night Light.Combining these two display modes can help prevent eye strain from prolonged exposure to bright screens.
