Whether you delete your iPhone messages on a regular basis, or delete them in bulk recently to free up storage space, you should take care to save the texts you still need.

However, sometimes we may accidentally delete some text messages that we want to keep, but don't panic, there are several different ways to recover lost text messages on your iPhone.Let's take a look together:

Use iCloud

If your iPhone is set up to back up to iCloud, you may be able to recover deleted text messages from a recent backup. This will restore your iPhone to the state it was in when you made that backup, which means that while it will help you restore text messages, you may lose some other data. Methods as below:

1. Open the Settings app and tap your name at the top.

2. Select iCloud and make sure that Messages is turned on in the list of apps.

3. Tap iCloud Backup.Check if your iPhone has been backed up recently.

4. Go back to the main Settings app menu, select General, then scroll down and select Reset or Transfer or Reset iPhone, depending on your iOS version.

5. Click Clear All Content and Settings, and then confirm that this is what you want to do.You may need to provide your iCloud password to turn off Find My.

6. It will take a few minutes for your iPhone to restore to its factory state. After that, you'll see the iPhone's initial welcome screen. After completing the first few steps, on the Apps & Data screen, select Restore from iCloud Backup.

7. Log in to iCloud to access the backup and select the last backup before deleting the text messages you want to restore.

Try iTunes or Finder

If you backed up your iPhone to a Mac or PC instead of iCloud, you can also try restoring your iPhone from the backup. If you have Windows, you can use iTunes, and if you're on a Mac, you can use the Finder.

1. Connect your iPhone to your computer and open iTunes or Finder.

2. In iTunes, click the phone icon at the top of the screen and select Summary from the menu on the left.In Finder, click your phone's name under Locations.

3. Tap Restore Backup and your old text messages will hopefully reappear on your phone. If not, your backup does not include these text messages.

If the Restore Backup button is grayed out, click the bubble that says "This computer" or "Back up all data on iPhone to this unit."Once you find the text you want, you can change it back.

Restoring deleted information from your carrier

If all else fails, consider contacting your phone carrier. Some service providers keep records of your text messages just like records of phone calls.

You need to log in to your carrier account, or use the service provider's customer service line.Either way, it's a last-ditch effort to get back the deleted information from your iPhone.
